Cottage 7x5ft Shed

Cottage sheds are supplied in sizes ranging from 6ft x 4ft (1.8m x 1.2m length x width) right up to 10ft x 8ft (3.0m x 2.4m). The overall height depends upon the size of the individual shed and ranges from 1.9-2.2m high, with an eaves height of 1.68m. These sizes also determine the number of windows and size of the door on Cottage sheds, in the case of the 7ft x 5ft cottage shed the door is 760mm x 1625mm making it marginally wider than the smaller model, there is also an additional window.

The door is manufactured to a different specification to the sides; it is a smooth tongue and groove door hung from 3 tee hinges, complete with a hasp and staple lock on which a padlock can be used for extra security.

Each window section on the Cottage shed is fitted with a 3mm thick glass pane and can be positioned on either side of the shed. Safety glass or Perspex can be included for a small additional fee instead of a glass pane or you may also wish to have no windows at all.

As standard, Cottage sheds are pre-treated in a water based preservative. As this is a water based treatment, it only partially soaks into the timbers of the shed, yet still offers a good level of protection whilst giving the shed a cedar red coloured finish.

Cocklestorm offer an alternative, more substantial oil-based preservative which soaks deeper into the timber providing higher levels of resistance to moisture. This premium, oil-based treatment comes in various colours, allowing you to customise the final look of your Cottage Shed.

Cocklestorm always use or recommend using a 4” x 2” pressure treated timber base to sit the shed on top of. This is so that the shed itself sits on a solid, flat base. Also, having the shed elevated allows airflow underneath and keeps the shed from being sat directly on the ground. This has the added bonus of helping to prevent moisture being absorbed into the base damaging the shed.

Please note that if you require a Cottage shed to be fitted, it could be subject to a free site survey. If the shed is purchased as supply only, it will be supplied with all the necessary fixings to erect the shed yourself, e.g. felt, nails, screw pack, fascias etc.

Due to our extensive product range, calculating the delivery charge can be complicated. When your postcode has been entered, delivery is automatically calculated by the website and is clearly shown at the checkout. However on certain products, the delivery charged is a covering charge. Should you wish, you are able to contact our staff about this charge as you may be eligible for a lower delivery cost.

For all products that are stock items, deliveries are within 1-10 working days if you are located less than 10 road miles of M26 2UT. If you are over 10 road miles and the delivery is made by Cocklestorm and not our couriers, the delivery will be within 1-15 working days. (Working days being Monday to Friday)

Within a 50 mile radius, your order will more than likely be delivered by our own fleet of vehicles. Over a 50 mile radius, your order may be delivered by our vehicles but more likely via a courier service.

For all deliveries carried out by Cocklestorm's fleet of vehicles, customers will be contacted via E-Mail or phone the day before the delivery is due. This is to confirm the delivery date and a 1 hour time slot that the materials will be delivered. Should the designated delivery date not be suitable or you need to re-arrange, your delivery will fall back to the initial waiting period for deliveries.

Free Delivery: All van deliveries within 2 road miles of Cocklestorm Fencing Ltd (M26 2UT) qualify for free delivery. If your delivery address is over 2 miles and under 50 miles, free delivery options are available with a minimum spend, please see the model on our delivery information page.

Please Note: For bespoke items such as made to order products, out of stock products, cutting or Barrettine dipping service, please allow additional time for production / purchasing, in addition to delivery times. Bespoke products are NOT eligible for return if you, the customer, have provided the incorrect measurements / information or ordered by mistake.

Important Notice Regarding Courier/Pallet Deliveries: If you are not home & you have a safe place to leave your consignment, our carrier is automatically authorised to deliver your consignment without a signature, please note that this will not be possible on instances where the carrier must leave the consignment on a public walkway or on the road. Please be aware that if the carrier arranges a delivery day & you are not at home to take the delivery & there is no safe place to leave the consignment on your property you may incur a second delivery charge. Note: When ordering heavy products via a courier service, such as concrete or items longer than 2.4m, you may be required to help unload the wagon.

Delivery Issues: The Customer should check their order promptly and carefully upon arrival, and inform the delivery agent of any damages or shortages discovered at the time of delivery and record this on the delivery record (e.g. "packaging damaged"). If the Customer is unavailable to do this, they should check the order carefully within 48 hours of delivery. In all cases the Customer should notify the Company of any damage or shortfall within 48 hours of delivery.
