Fence post extensions are used when larger
panels than the post are designed to accept
are fitted. They fill the gap between the
two panels. They are screwed through the
sides, into the panel and offer centre support.
If you feel that this support alone would
be inadequate, galvanized u-channels (found
in our sundries section), may be inserted
inside the post extension and down the inside
of the concrete post. Sometimes, they may
be tight and the panel may need trimming.
Two u-channels will be required but it is
not necessary to go down the full length
of the fence panel as long as the channel
goes at least 12" into the post.
